Corps de Garde Mountain
The Corps de Garde can be climbed over two paths. The more popular and shortest path starts on the "east part of the mountain". The longer path, is on the northwest, but it also has the disadvantage that it can be quite overgrown and that can make climbing impossible if the grass is man-high. It can happen from time to time, that by a fire in the field the mountain is also affected and so the path is freed again.
From the mountain itself you have a beautiful panoramic view over the western part of the island to the mountains of the Moka Range in front of Port Louis. In direction of the south you can still see Mount Rempart and the Trois Mamelles.
If you are lucky and are on the highest point, you are really close to the approaching A380 from Emirates, which flies inland between Flic en Flac and Albion on the west coast before setting to land.
